We’re excited to announce the addition of several new features to the Daily Connect platform. In recent weeks, we’ve added and updated the following features to improve your Daily Connect experience:

  • Security Enhancements
  • Immunization Tracking
  • Staff Certification Management
  • Mobile Application Admin Tools
  • New Parent Communication Features
  • Improved Parent Billing

Security Enhancements

Security is essential to every childcare provider. After all, families are trusting you with the most important thing in the whole world: their kids. That’s why we’ve invested in strengthening our security features, giving you more control over who can access the data in your Daily Connect account.

These features allow you to set custom privileges for administrators, control access to specific components, and fine-tune parent and teacher permissions. They include:

  • Two-Factor Authentication: Add an extra layer of protection to your account. This can be enabled in the Account Settings page on the web application.
  • Staff Privileges: Set unique privileges for each administrator. For instance, you can prevent specific administrators from accessing the Parent Billing component or modifying your settings. These settings can be set in the Staff section on the web application.
  • Parent Restrictions: control parents’ ability to save entries, send messages to staff, or modify their home page customization. This gives you greater control over how your families use Daily Connect. These settings can be modified in the new Childcare Settings > Security page.
  • Teacher Restrictions: Prevent teachers from modifying their home page customization or deleting entries from parents to ensure administrators can see everything that’s happening in their center. 
  • Delayed Synchronization: You can now send information to parents at the end of the day, rather than in real-time throughout the day as your staff add entries to Daily Connect. This can be changed in Childcare Settings > Settings

Children’s Immunization Tracking

Several states now require childcare administrators to maintain a record of the immunization status of children at their childcare centers. Now, you can use Daily Connect to ask parents for proof of immunization, securely store this information, and generate reports required for licensing purposes. 

With Daily Connect’s new immunization tracking tools, you can:

  • Set requirements based on your local regulations
  • Allow parents to upload proof of immunization
  • Track overdue immunizations and generate reports for licensing purposes

Staff Certification Management

Tracking staff certifications is crucial for maintaining legal compliance, meeting licensing requirements, and supporting professional development within your childcare center. Daily Connect’s staff certification tracking feature helps you stay on top of certification management with ease.

With this feature, you can:

  • Ensure your staff meets all legal and licensing requirements.
  • Support ongoing professional development by monitoring completed and upcoming training.
  • Streamline hiring and promotion processes by using the search tool to identify staff with specific qualifications.
  • Access detailed reports to see which certifications expire soon, helping you plan ahead.

Enable notifications to receive timely alerts when certifications are about to expire, ensuring you stay compliant and avoid disruptions.

Admin Tools on the Daily Connect Mobile App

Running a childcare center is more than a full-time job – it’s a way of life! Sometimes, you can’t get everything done from your desk and need the ability to work from your phone, which is why we’ve added a number of our administrator tools to the Daily Connect mobile app. 

Now, you can perform key administrative tasks on the go with our iPhone and Android apps, including:

  • Sending invoices
  • Collecting payments
  • Changing your sign-in kiosk options
  • Adjusting global settings for your organization

New Parent Communication Features

Improving the way you communicate with the parents of the children in your care is something that’s always been important to our users. That’s why we’ve added new options to improve these communications, including:

  • Location option in the Name To Face category
  • Reaction emojis for most categories
  • ♥️ Like and comment feature for photos, messages, and other entries. This feature is still in Beta testing, contact us if you would like to try it out.

Improved Parent Billing Tools

Our parent billing tools have been a huge success, enabling childcare centers to automate one of the most time-consuming parts of their job: sending invoices and getting paid. 

We’re constantly improving our tools in response to feedback from our users. In recent weeks, we’ve added the following features:

  • Easily track deposits, process partial refunds, allow parents to pay more than their due amount, export invoices and transactions, and access several new reports.
  • For online payments, we’ve added information to the Payout report for easier reconciliation with your bank account.
  • We’re excited to introduce attendance-based billing. This new feature automatically generates invoices based on hours or days of attendance, including options for after-hours surcharges. Contact us if you’re interested in trying out this feature.
